I just witnessed a sad attempt at making a BFH video. One player wanted to record a video of other players blown away by the Blasting Strike ability. At first I thought it was a silly thing to do, but then I figured: "Hey, why not? As long as he's giving credit..." Unfortunately, I was the only one thinking like that. I followed him over three servers to get the video done, but other players wouldn't listen and just kept killing us away before we could assemble enough people to make the video, and then I finally gave up.
Personally, I think this incident resembles a great part of the community, or rather that bulk of people that is called a community. As long as people just care about their kills:deaths ratio, a creative task like said video is hard to accomplish. Looks like someone needs to hammer some sense of community back into the community. Sadly this is not limited to BFH, but applies to CounterStrike, WoW, and other online games as well. Makes me wonder: Where did the fun part go? Comments or thoughts on this blog entry? Mail me:
